Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach 7th grade special education students in an urban school district. My students come from a low income area. The students have intellectual disabilities and have difficulty learning and retaining information. They benefit greatly from the use of technology and supplies which are not always available.

They are unable to provide basic school supplies, and the school district does not have a budget that allows the students to have these basic supplies.

Having these basic needs such as construction paper, glue, markers, crayons, and other supplies will make a huge difference with my students.

My Project

This project will help my students while they use Chromebooks in their centers. We need new headphones because the ones that we are currently using are outdated. This project will help my students comprehend material presented to them on their chromebooks. As technology evolves, so does teaching.

This project will make a huge difference in my classroom!

With the district budget being cut this year, this funding would make a huge difference. Teachers are currently buying their own copy paper. Some students can't afford their school supplies. This project will help my special education students reach their maximum potential.
