Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a fourth-grade teacher in an urban school. Despite many challenges, my students come to school each day eager to learn how to learn and drive their own learning.
My students love school because they experience thrilling and motivating educational experiences that simultaneously improve their math, writing, reading, science and social studies skills.
This often takes monetary funding I am not given by my state or school district. Unforgettable learning experiences in fourth grade help my students retain learning in their long-term memories.
My Project
These pink erasers are the best of the best. After a pencil loses the eraser it was born with, these are definitely second best. Writers, scientists, and mathematicians will utilize these erasers to get to their best work.
At the end of fourth grade, the fourth graders make a compilation of their work that shows growth and learning.
Portfolios are the perfect space for kids to compile their best work throughout fourth grade.
It is important for fourth graders to learn that our best isn't created without help, without mistakes, and without hard work. In 180 school days my fourth graders learn the power of asking questions, making mistakes, and fixing first tries. This learning leap will be illustrated at the end of the year using learning portfolios.
