My Students

My students are the best students. We have a very diverse socioeconomic population with children from our surrounding neighborhoods along with children from countries like Syria, Pakistan, and Nigeria. We are a Title I school where nearly two-thirds of our students speak English as a second language.

On a daily basis these beautiful, accepting students are fully engaged in their education.

They are supportive of each other as well as welcoming to mainstreamed students who spend some of their day with us who have Autism and other learning disabilities. They are loving and supportive and enjoy working as a team.

My Project

We have two trimesters to go and are running low on basic classroom supplies. It is always a struggle to make it to the end of the year and have everything we need supply wise to finish the year strong

Since I am in a first grade classroom the students need an enormous amount of writing and small motor skills practice.

Penmanship, sentence structure and paragraph writing are the main areas of practice that my students need. The crayons, whiteboard markers and writing paper are what we always run out of. All of the supplies will be put to good use!
