Ms. Hellyer from Wyandanch NY is requesting Supplies through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Basic Supplies Needed to Make a Big Difference

My students need basic school supplies, such as pencils, scissors and chalk, to serve their daily needs in the classroom.

My Students

Do you remember picking out all your new school supplies in September? Most of my students do not have the resources to purchase basic school supplies. With your assistance my students can work to be all they can be.

My students are eager learners who work hard each day to excel.

Most are on reduced or free lunch and live in a low socio-economic area. As a first year teacher my biggest challenge is providing my students with the materials required to be successful in the classroom. There are limited resources available besides what is provided by the teachers.

My Project

Our school district does not contain an art program. We are encouraged to implement art in the curriculum with projects each month. Scissors and chalk available in the classroom will offer opportunities to be creative. Having these materials each day would assist my students in daily learning activities

The excitement of new materials in the classroom will encourage hands-on learning and creativity.

My students will become more involved in their learning and work towards excellence.
