it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school serves almost 400 New York City public school students. Ninety-four percent of the population are minority students. Eighty percent qualify for free or reduced-rate lunch. About 30% are students with disabilities and English Language Learners.
We are a school that specializes in business, promotes project-based learning for college and career readiness but often lack the resources needed to keep them focused, on track, and engaged throughout the day.
Non-engaged students often lead to missed opportunities but with basic supplies, we can increase rigor, stay engaged, and take advantage of all the activities my program can offer.
My Project
With the basic classroom resources for time management and organization, my students can learn to take control of their academic success by improving their ability to focus. With increased focus comes enhanced efficiency, increased rigor, and active engagement because that would allow my students to not lose momentum by veering off course.
Good time management resources will allow my students to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which would allow them to lets you take advantage of more learning opportunities.
Basic supplies will lower their stress and helps them focus, which will lead to more career success. Each benefit of time management organization will improve another aspect of student life but I can't teach time management without basic resources. These resources will change that.
