This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a self-contained kindergarten class. My student population consists of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities.
Working with this population can be difficult, but it is super rewarding within this environment.
I teach the most interesting, caring, well-behaved scholars ever! My school is a student-centered environment filled with world-class teachers! As a team, we are continuously brainstorming ways to evolve as educators, and we are also advocates for family involvement in the learning process!
My Project
This project will make a huge difference in my classroom. It will be the difference between my students having what they need to learn and not. Our project will bring reusable write and wipe boards, number lines, and alphabet lines for our wall to the classroom. These are basic supplies that all students need to be successful. By giving my students these basic supplies, they will be able to be reminded daily how to form all 26 letters of the alphabet correctly. They will also be able to count the numbers up to thirty right at their seats because the number lines will be on their tables! My students will also be able to trace the letters and numbers on their reusable write and wipe boards.
Beyond the very basics, this project will bring smiles to a wonderful classroom; that's the stuff that makes learning fun!
With the right materials, I can keep kids engaged. By having engaged kids, I can teach them anything! Thank you for believing that every student deserves to learn.
