Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are very loving and caring individuals. My students are very talented 25 young individuals who come from a low socioeconomic section in Florida. I have ESE, ESOL and autistic immigrant students. My students come to school filled with eager to learn and be the best they can be. My students face many challenges inside school to succeed and do their best, and they struggle outside of school to not allow the environment that they live in to stop them from achieving their dreams.
My Project
In early November, we welcomed 2 amazingly smart students who came from Puerto Rico four months after Hurricane Maria violently hit the island. They were given housing at a hotel and began school days after going months without. The families we serve really want what is best for their kids and trust me as their teacher to help make those decisions. These supplies will help us tremendously in the classroom for the students from Puerto Rico. The supplies like the alphabet rockets alphabets will help my new students boost letter recognition and exploring letter sounds as they play! The students will play in groups and match the letters with the sounds onto the rockets. They will have fun learning their letters and sounds. We need the listen & learn early comprehension activity this program guides kids along as they explore a variety of comprehension skills, from story sequencing to identifying the main idea. The Muscle Rack Book and Toy Organizer will be used to store manipulative, books and students learning activities. We do not have any storage to put our books or the students' manipulative. Having the storage will help our class to be more organized.
We need basic supplies in order to complete our assignments and have an amazing learning environment.
