My Students
Kindergarten is where students make their long lasting first impression of their school days. My students are hungry for a rigorous learning environment and for some reason they have expressed a deep interest in math and science. While teaching them skip counting by 2's they pushed me to start counting by 3's as well which became a part of our routine.
These little people full of energy, color, and determination will blow your socks off with their creativity, ingenuity, and sense of community!
We are located in the urban district of Tacoma, WA. The diversity of this classroom is beautiful and we all share in learning about all the different cultures that are represented in class. I am blessed to work in such a rich community and be a part of raising up the next generation.
My Project
The school that I am teaching is one of the most diverse communities in the district. Many languages and cultures are represented as a result. These supplies will give each kindergartner equal opportunity to succeed as they will not have to worry about what to bring to school. With your help each student will have everything they will need to enjoy a loving community of learning.
I heard somewhere that play is a child's most serious work, and I for one and a firm believer of this.
With all of the basic needs met for these students they will be able to enjoy an engaging learning evironment that allows them to play and learn at the same time.
