Basic Supplies for College and Career Prep!

My students need basic classroom supplies, including pencils, glue sticks, scissors, composition books, markers and colored pencils, cardstock, and rulers.

My Students

My students are bright, creative and independent middle schoolers who need every boost possible to reach high school and college. Unfortunately, very few of them are able to afford basic school supplies and we want to provide them with what they need to succeed.

We are a Title I School with more than 90% in the free-and-reduced lunch program, and many languages spoken on campus.

Our middle school serves 6th-8th graders in an urban, high poverty setting. On a daily basis, our students rely on breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks at school, as well as access to physical and mental health services.

My Project

Our goal is to provide the best education for our students so that they are ready for high school, college, and their careers later in life. I believe students should have access to basic supplies, like pencils, scissors, glue, and markers, in the classroom on a daily basis. These supplies will help the classroom function more efficiently, and reduce the stress of not being able to complete an assignment or project. Teachers at our school often provide classroom supplies out of their own pocket, but with half a school year still left - supplies are dwindling.

By supporting this project, you are increasing the equity and accessibility of basic school supplies for each student.

In order to move ahead in the world, shouldn't students have access to basics like pencils, scissors, and glue? These supplies will build the academic confidence my students need as they get ready for high school and college.
