Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These middle and high school students are amazing pupils who will all be first generation college students. They come from all across San Diego and have an unbelievable amount of potential. Together, we come from diverse backgrounds but all share the common goal of graduating from high school, going to college, and implementing change in our world!
Furthermore, our programs emphasize a students helping students model and we work heavily to have our students work in teams to support each other's learning!
My Project
My science and University Prep classes have been using the same box of markers for five years! We need to refresh some of our classroom basics. As my own supply of glue, scissors, tape, and markers have dwindled, it is difficult to ask students to produce quality work when we are missing the basics.
For many of our students, providing their own set of basic classroom materials can be a challenge.
I hope to start next year with a fresh set of materials for the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th grade students that share my class. The supplies listed here are the most commonly used materials that my class needs every year.
