Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a working class neighborhood in the city of Chicago. The school sets high expectations for students consisting of pushing all students to apply and persevere through college. The students are unique and hard working. Many of our students participate in either sports, theater or cheer!

This is also an important year for my junior students and they are constantly reminded that the SAT test is approaching quickly.

There is very little time for my students to waste because they are working hard to improve their GPAs and SAT scores. Our students are hardworking and motivated to grow each day!

My Project

My classroom is occupied every day by Chicago math scholars. We work hard and thus need a lot of basic supplies, including pencils, Clorox wipes and dry erase markers. This project will help my students focus on what's important so that they can get their work done with mastery.

Each and everyday, my students strive to do their best, so I need to provide them with the best resources.

Many students appreciate that my math class is engaging and consists of several activities every day. In order to provide students with a range of activities, I need to provide the students with proper materials.
