My Students

I teach an amazing group of 1st grade students. We are a culturally diverse school with most of students who are English language learners. Despite their challenges, they are very inquisitive and eager to learn.

My school is a Title I school which means most students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.

We strive to meet all of their needs as they strive for academic excellence. Their tenacity to learn encourages me to create a fun learning environment so they are actively engaged in learning every day.

My Project

I am requesting basic school supplies for my students. This is the time of year that school supplies start to run low. Many of my students are in dire need of essential supplies to aid them in learning. I buy supplies in the beginning of the year when they are on sale so that my students all have what they need. Several students do not have supplies at home so I supply them with notebooks, paper, crayons, and pencils so that have the tools necessary to practice their skills at home and complete homework assignments.

Students read, write, and draw everyday in my class. They need good pencils to use for Reading, Math, Language Arts, Science, Health, and Art. Pencils break often and we need a commercial pencil sharpener that will last and sharpen well. We have many colored pencils that need sharpening so that they can illustrate their writing and express their creative side. The privacy blockers help students focus during testing. My students will be delighted to see our classroom supply replenished and have a sense of peace knowing they all have the tools needed to succeed in school. Thank you for considering this project.
