Basic School Supplies for Third Graders

My students need a pencil sharpener and pencils for our classroom to do their math and reading work. We use post its to share our thinking as they read.

My Students

We need these basic supplies for our classroom to function well. My students are working so hard to be at grade level. Please support our amazing learning environment by providing these basic supplies.

My students are 75% free and reduced lunch.

Their families work multiple jobs in order to survive. We have many single parent families who are struggling. Our school population is over 90% immigrants and students of color. We meet student's individual needs by having reading and math classes at their level. The range in my third grade class is from kindergarten to third grade level. My student's work very hard to achieve and grow in their academics. Our school PTA is very small and is unable to provide any classroom support or materials.

My Project

Our supply of pencils is dwindling as we are doing lots of extra writing this year! We are working to inspire my class to learn through writing as well as through teaching. In order for this to work, we need new pencils and sharpeners. We use post its extensively during reading for students to write down their thoughts to share with their partner and with the class.

It is important for my students to have the same opportunities that students have at more affluent schools.

Please help to provide what they need to succeed! My student's parents and I provide all the supplies we can, but it isn't enough. Thank you for choosing to support the important work we are doing!
