My Students
These students span the socioeconomic levels, though many are below middle-class. We have a fast-growing ESL population. This is a large school with a transient population, set in a tourist town that is part of a county-wide school district.
My students range in all levels from special education to gifted and talented with a wide range of needs.
With all of these needs, we need different types of supplies to meet their different learning styles. I believe in the hands on approach and discover learning and will utilize these tools to enhance their educational journey.
My Project
As a teacher, I think it is very important to try and help take the worry of school supplies off of my students. I do not want my students coming to school and worrying about not having the materials that they need to be successful. Most of the essential school supplies are completely used up by the end of the first semester because my students work extremely hard. These essential school supplies will help us start the school year off on the right track. We will be able to do more hands-on learning with the dry erase markers, white boards, compasses, construction paper, pencils and graphing paper. Having access to these basic school supplies is a great way to ensure a successful school year. This project will truly make a difference in our classroom! We will be able to focus more on our academic achievement and less on having school supplies. We will be able to grow to our fullest academic potential because we will have all the things that we need for a successful school year.
