This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 7th Grade English Language Arts students are wonderful. They are kind, thoughtful, and - for the most part - love to read. They are mostly from the Ridgewood area of Queens. My school is a Title I School.

My students are wonderful but are often unprepared with basic school supplies.

They could use a helping hand to be prepared on a day to day basis. They deserve the best and I want to give it to them because they can be successful if they have the tools and the support they need.

My Project

My students need Sticky Notes, Pencils, Eraser Caps, Ink Pens, Dry Erase Markers, Sharpies, Composition Books, and White Out Tape to help them be successful in class. Being prepared is such an integral part of being a successful student, and I want to make sure my students have everything they need in order to be successful. They should not have to worry if their parents (many of whom work multiple jobs) can afford to buy them the post-its they need to take notes in their book in class, or the highlighter they need to annotate important information.

Many students don't even come with a pen or pencil to class.
