This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a very impoverished area in the projects. My children have little to nothing. They have already faced so many obstacles in their young lives and yet they forge ahead. Most of my children don't come in with any supplies, so this donation would be well used and greatly appreciated.

My students are a group of wonderful, talented, and bright children.

I teach an ELL (English Language Learner) class, so my students come from various backgrounds and cultures. Some have not been in this country for very long. To see their growth, both socially and academically, over the school year is truly what keeps me going. The sky is the limit for them. My school is a barrier-free school. This means that my school opens its doors to all children, regardless of their handicap. Children in wheelchairs and with walkers learn, work and prosper right alongside their peers. It's an amazing thing to see.

My Project

Being that most of my students don't bring in any school supplies, this limits what we can accomplish in the classroom. With the supplies that I have requested, my students will be given the opportunity to grow and prosper. Any supplies that I can give my students will greatly help the learning process in the classroom. When you put even just the tiniest supply into a child's hands, the adorable and appreciative smile that they give back to you is easily enough to make your day!

The supplies that I have asked for will make day to day teaching and learning in the classroom much easier for my students, as well as myself.

They won't have to worry about not having the basic supplies that most other children have. My students will be prepared and ready for any challenge that I put in front of them.
