Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year kids are excited to go out and pick out a new backpack, shoes, clothes, binders, pencils, folders, etc. But not every family has the ability to provide these things for their child. I teach in a low income neighborhood and it is a struggle for some families to provide the the things they need.
These Binders, pencils, dividers, and highlighters will be available to the families who need help.
My goal is to have these items available during meet the teacher. That way parents can take some of the items home and give them to my upcoming 4th graders. That way they can have them on the first day of school and take them out of their backpack just like everyone else. That way when we set up our binders for math and science they can participate and have a feeling of belonging.
