This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the best students! I know each teacher feels this way, but I truly do about my class. I work at a Title I school which means my students are from low-income households. They do not always have a supportive and safe home environment. They face many hardships at a young age. Most of our students come to school hungry and with very little rest.
Although they face these hardships, my students are the most resilient third graders I know!
They come to school every day and try their best in all content areas. They collaborate, use technology, and think critically to reach their goals of becoming grade-level students. I am proud to be their teacher and look forward to expanding their minds daily.
My Project
Many of my students are going through a lot this year with remote learning due to the pandemic. Many of their guardians have lost jobs and are in need of basic things that many of us take for granted. I would love to be able to supply for my students and their families some basic necessities that can help them during this rough time. I am asking for some food such as crackers, fruit snacks, cookies, and health bars. These snacks will help to ensure that my students are staying feed and they can enjoy a fun snack during remote learning.
My students and their families deserve access to basic necessities!
I am also asking to supply my families with cleaning supplies. We can never be too safe moving forward, and cleaning supplies will help my students' families immensely. Things such as wipes, toilet paper, and paper towels will help my students and their families stay safe during the pandemic!
