Help me give my students some basic items that we use all year. We need headphones to listen on our computers, wobble chairs for flexible seating, and snacks to help my students stay focused throughout the day.
The school I teach at is a Title 1 school, meaning that a lot of the families are low income. I have lots of students from diverse backgrounds and they might experience food scarcity. Because of this I try to have a classroom that provides some of the basics that you and I might take for granted. Listening to stories, not going hungry and providing motivation helps students stay attentive in class. My students are awesome and need the same things that students have in other schools.
Students can't focus when hungry, so by providing snacks it helps my students to focus and learn better.
In addition to hunger, students need headphones to be able to listen to stories and podcasts that increase their learning. Candy is a great motivator for students answering questions, and it helps them pay attention when they know their is a reward for listening. Wobble chairs are provided for those students who need to move a little more to stay focused. All these items provide basic needs for my students.
