This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The little things in band make all the difference. My students are running low on the essentials such as cork grease, valve oil, slide cream, and many other maintenance tools for their instruments. They have to share their personal supplies with each other. If I have a classroom set of instrument maintenance materials, our band will be ready for anything.
As our band has grown in size, we have diminished in supplies.
I want every student in the room to have access to the tools they need to be successful in band. In band, many families struggle financially with constantly supplying their children with all of the tools they need for success. This classroom set of tools will eliminate that problem entirely.
Last on my list is a classroom set of instrument tuners. Our students are not allowed to have phones at school during the day. What do most people tune their instruments with? A Smartphone. If we have a class set of instrument tuners, our students will be able to take the next step in the band world and blend together. We only have one class tuner currently, and it takes a very long time to tune 70 students. By splitting the tuners around the band, we will cut down on tuning time and have more time to learn!
All of these supplies will help my band succeed. We will use these supplies for many years! Thank you for considering donating to my band.
