My Project
Hello! I am currently in a room that has NO vents, heat, or air conditioning, and only one door which I can't open very often because of the outside noise level which leaves students unable to concentrate. I would like to have a fan so that we can have some air flow in the room. It can get very warm, even on colder days, with many bodies and no source of air flow. It can also get a bit smelly, which is why I have asked for some wall plug-ins. I have found that students enjoy a gently, nicely scented room (they will comment "It smells so good in here!), and it helps cut back on the body odor that can accumulate in the room.
I have also asked for some basic cleaning wipes so that we can keep the room and surfaces free from dirt and germs!
To my surprise, students actually race at the end of the day to help me clean with the wipes! They like pulling them out of the package and looking at the dirt after they put in some old-fashioned elbow grease ("Hey, look at how dirty my desk was!"). It also helps teach basic hygiene and housekeeping.
I have asked for some colored markers because I have many students who connect with art and can express themselves with color and drawing. They enjoy making impromptu pictures for their parents, office staff, and even sometimes for me! I want to have some supplies on hand for them.
The last few items are for function and classroom beautification- I want to have a happy room that is organized and nice to be in.
