This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I am requesting will benefit my students my providing them with basic needs a classroom should have. Although we currently have tables and chairs, they are different colors, sizes, and shapes. Research shows that students can get overwhelmed with too many different elements in a room.
Giving my students a uniformed set of tables, chairs, and rug will give them access to a more calm and organized environment where they don't have to worry about getting a chair that is not the same as their friends or too cold or high for them.
It will also give us the opportunity to form a community relationship by having morning meetings and story time on a big rug. The medium sized rug will provide my students the chance to build block structures on it without having to worry about the blocks hitting the hard floor.
