Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in an inner-city school with most of the students’ families struggling with low incomes and high costs of living daily. Many of my students live in homeless shelters and attend school here to better themselves in hope of getting into a good college program to change their paths in the future. They do not just want to follow in their parents’ footsteps. Over the years, my school has been able to send some of our top students to top institutions all over the country.

My Project

Practice make it perfect and yes this apply to students using graphing calculators too. In our classes and students are using graphing calculators to help them with work during the class, but they have nothing to go home with to use. I have encouraged each and everyone to invest in a calculator, but, not everyone could afford to buy one.

With your donation, I will be able to offer some of my students the opportunity to borrow the calculators from my classroom to practice with.

I am hoping to provide more kids with the chance to craft their math skills

Graphing paper is another essential item in my classroom. My students will be going through a lot of the during the school year because many of topics need graphing paper to support student learning.

Please give my students the chance to bring home a calculator to use with.
