This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come to my math class with the desire to learn new things every day. They like to work together with each other as they explore new mathematical ideas. Unfortunately, sometimes they do not have the materials they need to engage in classroom activities. Sometimes they are in need of a pencil, an eraser, or paper to keep their notes on.
Having access to basic materials such as pencils, erasers, and graph paper gives students equitable opportunities to learn mathematics whenever they do not have access to those materials.
The materials from this project will help me give all students what they need to fully engage in our math lessons. The pencils, erasers, and graph paper will allow them to work on problems to improve their mathematical skills, and the color markers will give a pop of color to their work to make it more meaningful for them.
