My students are in desperate need of basic supplies!
As a teacher, and a daughter of a single mother who struggled to stay afloat when I was younger, I never want any of my students to feel like they don't have the basic needs to be successful in my classroom.
Our school is considered to be an equity focus school which means that at least 50% of students come from low-income households and at least 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American.
At TYWLS, we want all students to have equal opportunities for success, regardless of their background or any obstacles that they've faced in life. I do the best I can to provide for my students, but at this point in the year, I could really use your help!
With these materials, we'll create:
-Art projects that help our students express themselves in new ways and build on their self-esteem.
-Posters for our upcoming civic engagement project in which we're helping animals at a local animal shelter.
-Women's History Month art projects where the students will learn about artists such as Georgia O'Keefe and Bridget Riley and recreate a piece of their artwork.
