This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach the most amazing children with special needs in a low income school in South Gate, California. Currently, 98% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My students show up every day willing and ready to learn. My students often struggle in the general education setting and my goal is to help them share their work with such pride and joy.

My class needs the basic supplies in order to operate fully and feel proud of the work they create with the necessary materials such as markers, color pencils, colorful crayons.

My Project

Please help us add some basic classroom supplies to our room to enhance learning and expression. The supplies include, bright crayons, Crayola markers, pens, highlighters, flexible erasers, and Post-It. The classroom supplies will be kept in the classroom and will be used during classroom instruction during daily activities.

My students are becoming more confident with expressing what they learn as we practice reading and writing expression through various methods daily in class.

We learn about and engage in units for narrative writing, informational writing, and opinion writing. When my students volunteer to respond to questions and share their responses it warms my heart with great pride because they are so proud of their work.
