Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom on a daily basis. Despite the many challenges they encounter, students at my school are always excited and ready to learn! They persevere and show great enthusiasm in their classwork and social situations.
Our school radiates with a sense of community and welcomes all children to let them know they belong!
Staff and students work collaboratively to achieve their goals. Student input is valued and celebrated to create lifelong learners! These students are from one of the most impoverished areas of our state. Our school has a 100% free breakfast and lunch program for all students. The materials that are being asked for will help students see that they are worthy of a beautiful classroom with functioning and new things for them to use!
My Project
The students at our school are always ready to learn! But there are some basic materials that we need in order to have learning take place! The white boards, erasers and dry erase markers will be used for our phonics program which frequently has students practicing writing and reading. These can also be used during math so students can demonstrate their thinking! The colored pencils will be used for our high quality writing projects so students can create beautiful artwork to match their writing. The calming cushions will be used as flexible seating while students are reading or working in the classroom!
