This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a school we’ve seen the biggest influx of newcomers students this year compared to my previous 20 years. There have been so many new immigrant families moving into our area it is hard to keep up with the basic supplies for them and their families.

To be their best selves, our students need to have the basic hygienic needs met.

When these needs aren’t met, it is even harder to get our students to a place of learning. They, as well as all of us, thrive in an environment where we don’t have to worry about our basic needs.
