Basic Computer Access for Hard Working Students.

My students need access to basic computer equipment. With a very overcrowded school there are many times the library computers are all taken for extended periods of time, and having access in the classroom will help.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach mostly come from homes that don't encourage success in school. Many of the homes have parents working multiple jobs, along with the students needing to work and help the family as well. This reality can sometimes make school seem unnecessary to them when faced with learning or supporting the family.

Our students come from circumstances that give them an excuse to fail, but they work their hardest to achieve.

Despite their numerous challenges, they do not let their disadvantages stop them from learning, growing, and moving on to college.

My Project

Since many of our students come from underprivileged and working class families, many of them only have access to basic computer technology at school. Being an overcrowded, underfunded public school there are many times the school-provided computers are taken and there's not enough time for everyone to use them. Having a basic laptop in the classroom means the students can have access to type their reports, make presentations, research information, and interact with the technology they will use when working as adults. Instead of having to take their chances at the public library, this will ensure that they not only have access, but also have someone there to help if they need assistance.
