My Project
The items requested are all items that we consistently need or use throughout the year. I often find myself spending a ton of money out of pocket to support students academically and socially.
The following items I am requesting will make a difference in student learning because the books will allow them to practice reading at their various levels.
I have students that read at a kindergarten level to a third grade level. I want to be able to provide all students with a variety of books to read that encourage their love of reading. A lot of my students are English language learners so the books will help them develop their language skills.
My students also all have personal reading or math goals. When they reach these goals, they are able to choose from the prize box. The prizes and candy are to help motivate them in reaching their personal goals. I wanted to get a variety of prizes to help reward them for working hard in class.
All my students receive free breakfast and lunch, but sometimes are still hungry throughout the day. The snacks would help make sure that their hunger does not prevent them from learning. I want to them to be able to be their best selves.
