Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom is located in a middle school in a very low-income area of our city. My kids usually have a difficult time acquiring even the most basic of educational supplies such as paper and pencils, never mind creative supplies such as calculators, paper, markers, and colored pencils. Each day our kids come to school and are usually unprepared for the day. Whenever a teacher can provide missing resources, it is a win for them.

They are great kids that deserve all the support they can get.

My Project

This project will make a difference because it will provide children from an inner city with resources that are badly needed. Over 90% of our children come from low income households. Most of the time they struggle to even have the most basic educational resources. Providing our students with new resources that can be used in school daily really has a positive influence on their educational lives.

These labels will be used to help keep our students organized and identify their materials.

The index cards will be used for projects and vocabulary assignments. The crayons will help add color to al the posters and projects they will create.
