Basic Classroom Supplies

Help me give my students help basic classroom supplies such as ink, velcro, and laminating sheets to provide a structured and functional learning environment that meets my students' diverse needs.

My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and home environments, but they are resilient and come to school to learn each day. My students are ages 3, 4, and 5 years old and have moderate to severe low incidence disabilities ranging from autism to various genetic syndrome.

However, in my classroom labels hold no value.

My students hold so much potential and are capable of achieving whatever they set their mind to. I believe that every child can learn, it may not be in the same way or on the same day! Each student is wonderfully unique, creating a diverse group of learners with varying interests, levels of ability, areas of strengths, and learning styles. While each student is different, many effective strategies have been found to help students with special needs learn.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will allow me to create meaningful and functional lessons for my students, as well as support a specialized classroom environment that meets my students' diverse learning needs. Ink, velcro, laminating sheets, mounting tape, and double-sided tape are essential materials to create individualized lessons and classroom material, such as visual schedules, literacy and math lessons, and behavior visuals that supports my students ability to become more independent and learn various functional and academic skills.

When supporting students with multiple disabilities, it requires a majority of materials to be adapted to meet their developmental, functioning, and physical needs.This tend to leave the teacher paying for expensive material that is not supplied by the school district.

The materials in this project will allow me to provide my students access to materials that will support their development.
