This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is located in a middle school in a very low-income area of our city. My kids usually have a difficult time acquiring even the most basic of educational supplies such as paper and pencils, never mind creative supplies such as calculators, paper, markers, and colored pencils.
They are great kids that can really benefit from extra school supplies at their disposal.
Each day our kids come to school and are usually unprepared for the day. Whenever a teacher can provide missing resources, it is a win for them.
My Project
My classroom is in need of some basic classroom supplies. We need packing tape, scissors, glue sticks and colored pencils. These items will be used on a daily basis in the classroom. We will use these items for all sorts of projects in class. These items will help make colorful posters and projects come to life. We will ask the students to do weekly oral presentations using these projects.
Any new materials that we can provide our students with in our classrooms really make a difference in their academic lives.
These materials give them something to be proud of at school.
