My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to introduce them to all types of art and different ways to express themselves. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

My Project

Growing up, I used to think teachers had an endless supply of resources, especially paper and paint. As a teacher teaching during a time of very tight budgets, I have learned how much this is not true. My goal in this project is to be able to provide basic supplies for our students. Here in art, they learn math concepts, such as lines, shapes, angles, and symmetry. They also learn problem-solving and critical thinking skills. They also develop small muscle strength and coordination. The list goes on and on, but I will stop there.

Please help us provide basic art supplies so they can have this experience and we can help them grow these skills.
