My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to introduce them to all types of art and different ways to express themselves. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

My Project

Growing up, I used to think teachers had an endless supply of resources, especially paper and paint. As a teacher teaching during a time of very tight budgets, I have learned how much this is not true. My goal in this 2nd Basic Art supplies project is to be able to provide art supplies such as markers and additional seating for my students. Some of the supplies include seating as well, for example, lap desks and a classroom rug.

Children learn lifelong foundation skills through play, even in art!
