My Students

Living in a rural town, many of the students of the school live in small communities of houses, or rent apartments. The school has a mix ethnically. Many families have moved up here after living in New York City and establishing themselves in the United States.

These students have big hearts and open minds.

I hope to use the art room as a tool to further students' interests.

Many students do receive assistance for school lunches, and many families rely on the school for assistance throughout the school year. Additionally, there is a large population of English Language Learners at the school.

My Project

Elementary students go through art materials at a rapid rate. Throughout the year many materials need to be replaced. I am hoping to create a little bit of a backup of materials I know that they will need, such as colored pencils, markers, scratch paper and caddies. I also would like to cut down on the paper that I waste using to protect the table from messy materials (messy mats needed!)

Students always enjoy fun art materials, and I need to make sure we have enough to last.

These materials are shared between all K-5 classes in my school. Make the materials last!
