For recess each day, students gets to play on our playground behind our school. One part of the playground is a sectioned area of blacktop. This is typically where they want to play kickball. They have made up what pieces of the blacktop are supposed to be each base, however sometimes disagreements occur. I would love to have some portable bases that we could use for recess when the students decide to play kickball.
Playing in teams outside not only provides good exercise for kids but also helps them with some interpersonal skills by working in a team.
They love to play kickball in particular because at the end of the year, the fifth graders get to play one last kickball game against the staff members at our school. This is always a fantastic memory for the students before heading off to middle school.
