Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are unbelievable kids. They are leaders in the school and in our community. They put in a ton of time an effort, often conditioning before school throughout the winter and lifting after school. In addition, they take their school work seriously. Our program boasts many honor roll students.
In addition to their hard work and dedication, our students volunteer at park districts across the city to help youngsters learn and appreciate the game of baseball.
This demonstrates their ability to be positive mentors.
More specifically the boys baseball team has found a resurgence in the past few years. Through the hard work of the players and coaching staff, our team has finished second in the city at both the Varsity and Junior Varsity level and won an Illinois state regional. More importantly the school has seen over 30 players in the last 6 seasons continue their career at the college level with 6 more to come this season.

My Project
I am requesting these items to outfit, train, and protect our players as well as create another level in our program.
In Chicago Public Schools, we have very few resources.
For example, we have zero baseballs for our games. Helping us with these items will provide a level playing field with the teams we face.
With the addition of another level to the Lake View baseball program, we will give opportunities to players that may not have been able to continue playing. Through donations to this account you will help provide pants and socks as well as equipment to make this happen.
