Barred Percussion Mania

My students need barred percussion instruments to play along with songs we sing in music class.

My Students

Help us keep the beat with new instruments to play in our music room. The instruments we are currently using are very old (1973) and in disrepair. I can picture the big smiles on my students' faces when they play new glockenspiels. We hope you will help us.

I teach in a high needs urban public school district in Western New York State.

My students are from low income households and they really appreciate the instruments we have in the music room. My students and I are able to put on high quality musical performances regardless of the supplies at our disposal.

My Project

Many of the instruments in our music room were purchased in 1973 when our school was built. As you can imagine, many of these instruments are in disrepair and have a very poor sound quality. My students and I would be thrilled to hear the brilliant sound of new glockenspiels in our music-making.

This project is important to my students because it will contribute to the joy of music-making.

My students will benefit from good quality instruments on which to practice their craft.
