My Students
My students come from a variety of different economic and cultural backgrounds. In my classroom alone, students speak a multitude of languages including Bengali, Mandarin, Chinese, Pashto, Polish, Spanish and Arabic. We are a self- contained, ENL (English as a new language) classroom, made of the most eager and wide-eyed 5-year-olds!
As diverse as my students are, economically and culturally, they are just as diverse in their academic needs as well.
My students language acquisition levels vary from entering to transitioning. It is incredible to see a child learn a language within a few short months!
My Project
Nearly all of students come from low-income households. As with many families worldwide, this pandemic has been extremely trying. This is no different for my 25 student's families.
I see first hand how limited my students' resources are at home and to combat that, I am asking for some help.
Supplying my students with crayons, pencils, and paper will help to alleviate some of the obstacles my families face with remote learning. These bare necessities will not only bring resources to my families, but also a smile! Thank you in advance for your generosity!
