Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every school year I start the year getting new books, new snacks, and books that haven't returned. Every year, there are books that don't return. These books are usually high interest, lower reading levels as most of our students aren't reading at grade level. Our students population is very diverse, come from all backgrounds and cultures, and have a variety of different interests. These books really do represent the students we serve. These books will help our students seem themselves, better their reading comprehension and vocabulary, and help struggling readers improve their reading levels. Having high interest literature truly does help these students become readers.

Books like "They Both Die at the End" is a popular staple in my classroom library, and each year, it continues to be read and not returned.

Please help get our year started out right. They truly need these books to help with literacy, critical thinking, and empathy.
