My Project
My high school cross country team is a diverse group of athletes/students.
Every year we have new runners join the team who have very little running experience.
Distance running is hard for everyone but having no experience makes runners often overestimate what their bodies can handle. To prevent injuries, we add a lot of recovery work to our daily workouts.
This includes a lot of strengthening work with resistance bands and working the muscle fascia with foam rollers.
The resistance bands come in different levels and as we progress in the season, athletes often want to work their way up to the next level. Having more variety will support their goals.
