Banding Wheels for Ceramics Class

Help me give my students 28 banding wheels to build fantastic ceramic artwork in their first ceramics class.

My Students

My students are now so excited about their first ceramic class with me! They are so enthusiastic, creative, and engaging in hands-on art projects. I am also looking forward to my new ceramic class this year in my 2nd year of teaching in Hawaii under the Hawaii State Department of Education.

During the pandemic, many of my students got anxious and frustrated in distance learning, therefore, they would gain more value project-based learning in person and in their physical classroom.

My Project

Help provide my students with banding wheels for an exciting ceramic classroom. As I initiate my ceramic program this year, we needed a lot of ceramic supplies. Although the banding wheel is one of the required materials in high school ceramics, we have none of them in the classroom.

The banding wheels that I requested will help every hand-building ceramic project that we will create while creating forms and decorating pots with glazes.

My lessons(projects) are Hawaii Culture and Place-Based ceramic projects so each project will be unique to my students who value where they are from.

A banding wheel is an essential tool to make centered and balanced work, and to see the multiple facets of their hand-built ceramics. I hope this DonorsChoose project will impact my art classroom positively and that my students can think about thier artwork in a centered, balanced, and multifaceted way.
