Diversity in education is a common factor in America. Students come from all kinds of backgrounds, races, homes, and learning abilities. School should be a safe place for all students and lead to success in the classroom. This can create a future of citizenship and careers. My students are very diverse and learn in many different ways.
Sixth grade classrooms are full of excited students who are eager to learn and face new challenges.
My students, despite varied learning styles and disabilities, are no exception. They are from a small town in Arkansas and are in a low socioeconomic community. By giving them chances to have items in the classroom that allow movement, successful education for every student can be achieved.
My Project
My classroom is very diverse in many areas. One of those areas is students learning abilities. While every student is unique, they all learn in different ways. Some students have disabilities that do not allow them to sit still to learn. These students learn best with educational support items such as chair bands and ball chairs. These items allow them to learn while causing the least disruption to other students.
All students deserve the chance to learn, regardless of disabilities.
Items such as chair bands and ball chairs allow slight movement causing a student with a disability to focus. These items can also help every student to have success in the classroom by engagement through movement.
