My Students

This year is the first year for our band program at Compass Academy. The students are loving their first year of band and are so eager to learn! I have never taught such motivated students that practice so much! Our community is very diverse and the cost of living is pretty high for most of my students. Many of my students are unable to afford high quality instruments or are unable to afford the items they need. For instance, clarinet players can go through reeds pretty quickly and need to be able to replace them! This project will help with those items that they need to help keep their instruments working correctly.

My Project

The tools in this project will be utilized by almost every member of the band program. The snare drum stand will be used for the brake drum tht is being donated. The temple blocks will be used in a lot of different band pieces that we will play. The reeds will benefit the clarinets for emergencies (running out of reeds and needing one immediately) as well as experimenting for step up reeds as they become better players. The slide grease and valve oil will be used at school so that I can show my students how to properly take care of their investment.
