Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are not only very bright but are extremely eager to learn. They catch onto concepts more quickly than I've ever seen. Many of my students come in not speaking English. Music is a class where they can feel comfortable and express themselves.
My students all have so much potential, but most of them come from poverty-level families.
Their life experiences play a role in their development. I want them to have the same opportunities students at other schools have, but we do not have the budget here to make this happen. These children just need a helping hand. Please help me give them exposure to opportunities they would not otherwise have but undoubtedly deserve.
My Project
We have started a new beginning concert band this year. Many of my families struggle with providing instruments, basic instrument care, and books for their students. We have some materials but are running low. We have a very limited budget and spend most of it on instrumental repairs. Many of my students need method books but cannot afford them.
A band program has not been offered in our area and this will have a big positive influence on their lives and those around them in the community.
Please help me give my students the same opportunities other students have to help them excel in the future.
