My students need an iPad Pro to help with marching band organization and to add electronics to our show.

I've worked at my school on staff with the marching band for five years and became the band director this past school year. I can genuinely say that I work with some of the kindest, most passionate kids I've ever come across. They deeply care about music and their band community.
Richfield, the state of Minnesota's oldest suburb just south of Minneapolis, calls itself an "urban hometown".
We have the community of a small town but the diversity and opportunities of a metropolitan city. Our student body is truly diverse, and we're stronger because of it.
Minnesota's marching band scene is very unique. Many schools have traditional fall programs while we and others have competitive marching bands that perform a short show during summer parades - similar to what you'd see at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Our 2018 show is called "Uprising" and includes "Bad" (Michael Jackson), "Can't Hold Us" (Macklemore), "Uprising" (Muse), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Greenday). All of the original songs are electronics heavy, and we want to be able to include those aesthetics into our marching show.
There are hundreds of moving pieces and people involved to pull together a four and a half minute show.
We travel all over the state participating in 10-12 hometown parades a year, and I have to bring a backpack full of information and binders everywhere we go. This includes the following: the drill and music for our show and warm ups, health and emergency forms for all students, parade info for each parade, judging forms, attendance sheets, planning documents, bus requests, and contact information for chaperone volunteers. We've had emergency situations, and I need to be able to pull students' emergency information more quickly. Additionally, I'm managing five staff members and 5-10 parent volunteers. Having an iPad would help me stay organized and have all the information I need all in one, succinct spot. The iPad will be used both in the teaching end at the beginning and to hold all documents and to take attendance when we're out on the road.
Additionally, if our keyboard cart project is funded, we would be able to use the iPad, which is the industry standard, to add electronic sound effects to our show. The landscape for marching band is slowing changing towards a heavy use of electronics, and we need to embrace this to stay competitive.
