My Project
We grow many things on the school farm, and bananas are one of them. We can only eat so many bananas before we start feeling like monkeys. We need this high quality dehydrator that has a timer so that we can dry these bananas to last much longer. Right now we are having to feed the chickens and the ducks all the leftover bananas because we cannot eat them fast enough.
Food preservation is one of the units we learn in class, and dehydrating is one of the easiest methods to have food last for a long time.
Not to mention, dried bananas are very yummy! We have one dehydrator now, but it doesn't dry very many at one time, so we are looking to get another one. Bananas are very high in potassium, which the body needs when it works hard and sweats. We work super hard in the garden and on the farm, so these dried bananas made with the Excalibur dehydrator will be a great asset to our class. We can also make jerky with the dehydrator when we harvest our chickens.
