My students need are in need of a new ball rack as our last one was broken. We also need new basketballs because over time the balls get worn and become bad.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from low income areas and the school district serves a 90 percent poverty study body. Many of my students have experienced many traumatic and life changing ordeals but strive on a daily basis to push through their circumstances. These students find joy in coming to learn and participate in activities in order to get away from everyday stress. Our motto at the High School is to save lives and give hope. These students deserve the best and we will continue to strive to put smiles on their faces.
My Project
New basketballs will allow the students athletes to have a better experience practicing on a daily basis. They will be able to grip ball better and work on form shooting to enhance their craft. The ball rack provides a place for the balls to be housed instead of on floor in our cage.
Right now, we are having to borrow our girls programs racks in order to transport balls.
It's hard to continue to share a ball rack every day having to switch daily. It's much easier to roll than carry balls each day out of our cage day to day.
