Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is the 3rd year that my special education program has been at this PreK Center. Our school is located in a low-income district and 100% of our students receive free lunch. With all of the budget cuts, our school supplies and learning materials budget has been greatly affected.

My students are 3 and 4 years old and come to school eager to learn and play.

They don't let their disabilities get in the way. Every day is a new day and a lot of what we do is repetition. Not only are we learning about shapes and letters and educational stuff, but we also are learning to play, interact with others, and basic self-help skills that others might take for granted. My students love coming to school every day, and I love seeing their smiling faces when they get out of the car.

My Project

My students are fascinated with balls at the moment. The toys in this project will help my students with their fine motor skills and teach cause and effect. We have a couple of these toys and they always get fought over because they want to use them at the same time. With covid 19 my students are unable to share toys so I would love to give each of my students their own that they can use for the day. At the end of they day I can clean the toys and switch them around for the next day.
